Who am I in Christ?-part 2

I’d like to go deeper in the subject I touched in part 1 of this teaching. So as you hopefully remember we were made God’s righteousness.

“Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”

Ro. 3:22

Through Christ God restored to us the state of our spirit we had the last time when we were in the paradise and we didn’t surrender to Satan yet. It was the state of purity and holiness and what comes after it - the authority and power! God created man to rule over the Earth and not to struggle on it. Hardship is the effect of sin and as you know our sins were irrevocably removed.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

Ge. 1:28

When God blesses us in some area that means he gives us the power to prosper and to unusually fast and effectively develop in that area. God says the following words afterwards

-reproduce (in the original text-be fruitful, grow up, get wider)

-increase in number (in the original text –increase, be in abundance, have the authority, progress, have the fullness of all kind of things)

-fill the Earth and subdue it

Therefore the blessing meant to possess the Earth and rule over it. God gave us the authority over all the earth. However the most important thing is that God created us in his image and likeness.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Ge. 1:26

What was the most important feature of being created in his image? The fact that we were to rule over the earth the same way God rules over entire Universe. God made us like “gods” of this Earth; we received all the authority necessary to do it. What Jesus did was getting back the authority from the Devil and giving it to us again.

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Mt. 28:18-20

Jesus took back the power over Earth and restored the lost authority to us.

“Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Mt. 18:18

Our authority has the power to change the reality on Earth and God (Heaven) approves our decisions, stands by us with all his power (his authority)! Jesus acted in that authority. He knew the Father always stood by him and always granted his requests.

“And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.”

Jn. 11:42

Jesus sent us in his place (go then and make disciples)

“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

2 Co. 5:20

You may say “That was Jesus and I am only myself. I’m not like Jesus.” And you are wrong there - you are exactly like He is, at least as far as the Word claims you should be. Do you think God would send you in Jesus place not giving His abilities and His authority to us? It would be a hopeless mission. Fortunately it’s not like that. Jesus said that we would do things He did and even greater because He was going to the Father.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

Jn. 14:12

You can’t do things Jesus was doing without being anointed as He was. If you can do it, what power you use for it? Jesus came to Earth as a man (He gave up all His divine attributes). He was anointed by the Spirit as we are today. It’s the same Holy Spirit. Jesus calls us His brothers and He says His Father is also our Father. My dear friends, He puts us on the same level with himself. At first He humbled himself to our level by becoming a man. Then He lifted us up by calling us his brothers

“Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.”

Jn.20:17

“For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,”

Heb.2:11

That doesn’t mean we are equal with God or that we can make the similar sacrifice Jesus made. That means we were bought into God’s family. We became His heirs and ambassadors and we act on the Earth in His name. Jesus would not be for us an example to follow if such following would not be possible! If He had acted as God on this Earth what chance we would have to follow Him? No chance at all! But if He became the anointed man and we have the same Spirit and the same anointing, then it starts to be sensible.

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”

Ro. 8:29

That means we have the same anointing Jesus had and we have to behave in everything the way he did. There is lots of other scriptures stating that we are (we became) the sons of God. We are no longer servants or all the more slaves.

“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”

Gal.4:6

“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

Ro.8:15

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.”

Jn.15:15

Jesus called us His friends. That was He who did it! We didn’t call us this way ourselves but He did it himself! And it should be enough for us. Stop then thinking about yourself as about someone weak and powerless. Don’t think you are worthless servant, without any position or authority. Start at last to see yourself as God sees you. See yourself as a friend and brother of Jesus. Anointed as He was and doing things the way He was doing! And of course start to do what He was doing - that’s the simple result of the previous facts!
